In Charlotte, Russell Franchise is revered as a champion, regardless if he has a title or not.
While Franchise's effort to retrieve his title was noble, AJ Adams' relentless attack on Franchise alone cost Russell a chance to be the Volitionary Champion once more. But Russell, always the optimist, knows that the good news is around the corner.
As Franchise is sitting on his mother's front porch, enjoying another beautiful Charlotte day turn to a beautiful dusk, he contemplates on his next move. A nice CAO Churchill Cigar in his mouth and a mix of Southern Comfort and Lime are his friends right now. His bumps and bruises are still healing up, until Franchise's mother slaps him upside his head!
Franchise: OUCH!
Mother: What have I told you bout smoking them stank ass cigars in my house?!
Franchise: Mom, I'm on the porch!
Mother: Still my house! Now, I don't have no problem with you drinking your alcohol, but the hell will I have you messing up your lungs with them cancer sticks!
Franchise: That's the least of my problems.
Franchise takes one final drag of his cigar and then puts out the cigar on the side.
Mother: I know I told you this a couple of times, but you were amazing at...
Franchise: I'm on to something better, Mama!
Mother: You're not going after your title again.
Franchise: Maybe later! My focus is on something bigger. The TGW Title is vacant and now might be the time for me to cash in for something bigger!
Mother: The TGW Title, isn't that the top title in the biz?
Franchise: Yeah, and at the next PPV, I'm going to fight my way to get that title around my waist, become the first TGW superstar to win the two top championships in the land.
Mother: Son, I got all the faith in the world in you, but...oh never mind!
Russell knew that when his mother pulled the "oh never mind", it was never good to let it fester with her.
Franchise: What's up?
Mother: What do you mean?
Franchise: Just tell me what you want to say!
Mother: I'm just saying, yes, having titles are good, but don't you want more than just titles?
Franchise: What do you mean?
Mother: You've heard the saying,"How does it prosper a man to gain the world and lose his soul?"
Franchise: Yeah, I read the Bible.
Mother: I know you want to be the best in the world in anything you do. You did it in football and in wrestling, but when are you going to...settle down?
Franchise: What do you mean? I'm fully vested in 401K, I got investments everywhere...oh, I got a girl I'm working on too, I got lots of girls...
Mother: I'm not talking about damn money or girls! I'm saying....when are you going to leave a legacy.
Franchise: I am leaving a legacy...
Mother: What have you done lately? You think wrestling is going to leave one. You need to do more...
Franchise: What more can I do? I'm an accomplished athlete with titles galore! I'm doing all I can to make people know that I am able to do great things.
Mother: I don't know what you need to do...maybe that's a internal issue. All I'm saying is, if you want to leave a mark on this world, you have to think about what you're doing now! Dinner will be ready in 5 minutes.
Franchise stared into the bright Carolina Sunset, contemplating the next move of the Franchise era. He knew he had a match with Zout, a bright star looking to make a name for himself. He also knew that AJ Adams would be waiting for him later, to settle up for his sins against Russell! But for now, as the sunsets on another great day, Russell thinks about what will possibly happen when the sun sets on his career!
