Aaron Rupp Journal Entry Sunday, August 8, 2010
It feels like forever since I've written in this journal. I don't know why it feels that way, but the man who gave this thing to me, my therapist Dr. Matthew Daniels, feels that it might be a sign that I'm getting better control of my emotions and might not need to use this thing anymore as an outlet. I'm not so sure about that, but he's the expert here. Regardless, I just feel that I needed to write again because I'm kind of in need of an outlet at the moment, and I really don't want to just go off on somebody for no reason. That would undo virtually everything it's taken to get me to this point, and I'm not about to risk that.
I do have some good news to write about, though. I recently sent in an application to join a wrestling company called True Glory Wrestling, and I heard back from them saying that I've become a part of their roster and will be debuting on their next Animosity show. The downside to this? My debut match puts me in the middle of a brewing hatred that apparently has been about a year in the making, as I debut against two guys who apparently want to destroy one another for the purpose of vengeance and to see who's better between them.
Things never come easy for me, and that's just the way I like it. I enjoy the challenge, and this is definitely a great challenge for only my first match with this company.
I'm ready to have my first match in TGW and I'm definitely ready to show all those fans what I bring to this company. There's no ego to be found from me, just the heart of a lion and the honor and respect that most companies are sadly lacking in these days. My two opponents better not focus too much on each other, because I'm not going to just sit back and let them focus on trying to see which one of them will be able to walk away from that ring. I'm going to face both of them head-on and see if they'll truly realize that I'm not just some new guy who got thrown straight into the fire in his very first match. I've done this before, and I know what I'm doing. And I only have one thing to say to everyone...
Y'all want a single? Say Rupp Dat~! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “I just arrived here, and already I’ve been caught in the crossfire.”A sigh can be heard.“That’s just my luck…”We finally fade in to find the source of the voice to be none other than TGW newcomer Aaron Rupp. Rupp is seated on a couch in his living room at home, dressed in a pair of Nike shorts that are such a dark shade of blue one could easily mistake them for being black. He’s also wearing a white Huron Soccer t-shirt. Aaron takes a moment to brush some of his medium-length brown hair out of his eyes to allow his emerald eyes a clear line of sight into the camera before he speaks again.“True Glory Wrestling… a new company for me to call home. This place just seems perfect for a fresh start for someone like me, someone who’s had his fair share of difficulties in this business over the course of the past few months. And before I continue any farther, I should point out to those of you here that don’t know me that I’m not just some kid breaking into the business for the first time and looking to rocket straight to the top. I’ve been wrestling for almost five years now, and I’ve held my fair share of gold. In fact, the only kind of title that’s ever eluded me has been a world championship. But I’m not here to get some gold around my waist, and I know that little comment has probably stunned most of you by now. See, my focus isn’t on winning titles or writing my name in TGW’s history forever. So what’s my focus then? It’s quite simple, actually. See, through my experience in this business I’ve discovered something far greater than titles that needs dealt with, and I’m here to make sure TGW doesn’t end up with this kind of problem destroying it like it has destroyed so many other wrestling companies out there. This problem… is egotism. There are too many egos that end up clashing and causing a company to lose fans and overall have problems because all you see are a couple of guys each claiming they’re the best and they deserve to have everything handed to them, etc. This arrogance is like a virus that strangles the life out of a wrestling company. But that’s where I come in. I fight for the fans, I fight to bring them the respectful competition they deserve to see. I care about their opinions and I work my ass off to cure this virus before it takes the company under. And that’s my goal here in TGW. I’m here to liberate it of the egotism that exists here before it becomes a serious problem. Any titles I may happen to win along the way… I’ll defend them with honor and pride, but I’ll treat them as just an accomplishment to show how far I’ve come in my career. Other than that, titles hold no significant value to me anymore.”Aaron gives the camera a smile. He’s being honest and straightforward about his intentions, and he’s ready to deal with anybody who has a problem with it. After all, shattering egos is something he does quite well.“Now, you’re all probably wondering what I meant behind my opening words here. Well, to put it in simple terms… luck usually hasn’t been on my side during my wrestling career. There have been a lot of times where something’s happened that hasn’t been too favorable to me and wound up either costing me a match or putting me in a position I really don’t want to be in. And for my very first match in TGW, all it took top put me in that aforementioned bad position was just signing up to compete here. I’m making my debut against two men who, from what I understand, have a history with one another here in TGW. I’m talking, of course, about AJ Adams and Camisado. Apparently, these two have serious issues with one another and I’m just the third wheel that was tacked onto this match to make it even more interesting. To be honest, I really wouldn’t be surprised if I ended up being ignored by both of my opponents as they just focus on trying to destroy one another. But I won’t be showing up on my very first Animosity just to stand there and watch two people beat the living hell out of one another and possibly leave openings for me to just sneak in and steal the win. That might be the smart way to approach this situation, but that’s not how I’m going to play. I’m going to warn both of my opponents right now: You try to ignore me or underestimate me, I will make you pay dearly for it. I’m not going to sit back and let you two just go at it. No, I’m going to be as involved as possible in this battle, and you had both better be ready to deal with what I’m bringing to this match.”The stern, focused look on Rupp’s face says it all. He’s not the kind of person to just sit back and just let an opportunity present itself to him. He’s the kind of person who’s going to work his ass off and earn that opportunity.“Now, here’s what I understand about the situation brewing between the two men I have to face in my debut… apparently AJ Adams attacked Camisado when he debuted in this company about a year ago, and now Camisado has returned to get some revenge. I also understand that Adams has been having issues with the person in charge of TGW. I want to put any fears AJ may have about my involvement in this match to rest right now… I’m not aiming to try and put you out of commission to get myself in a favorable position with the boss. I’ll leave that to Camisado if that’s what he wants to do. I’m just here to compete, give it my all, and hopefully walk away from this battle at the victor. Should you still worry about me? Yes, you should, but not for the reasons you might think. The only thing you need to worry about with me is trying to keep me from getting the win, and that’s all there is to it. I have no reason to hold a grudge against you, although you can definitely expect to walk away from this match with some serious damage to your ego. That’s probably the only thing I’m going to intentionally hurt here, because I think I’ve made it clear now that egotism is something TGW can definitely do without.
As for Camisado, I’m issuing the same warning to you. You may think that once you clear Adams that you can put yourself in a good position here, especially if you hurt him bad enough either for the boss or for your own vengeance, but I’m not going to let that happen. You want to try and get to the top after being out of TGW for a year? You’re going to have to get past me first, and that’s never an easy feat. I know I said that if Adams needed somebody to worry about as far as the bullseye on his back from the person in charge of TGW right now than you’d definitely be the one he should keep an eye on, but I’ve seen how this situation plays out numerous times before and honestly… I’ll be damned if I let you just get handed opportunities just because you did something the boss wants, regardless of whether or not you even win this match. You and AJ want to destroy each other over lingering issues from last year? Be my guest. But if you think I’m going to let you get handed 15 minutes in the spotlight just because you marked your return by injuring a man and getting into good graces with the boss, then you and I are going to have some problems and you can bet that I’ll be right there ready to turn the lights out on you if that’s what happens.”Aaron pauses to take a deep breath and compose himself.“AJ, Camisado… I wish both of you the best of luck. You’re both going to need it, trust me. I’m not afraid to step between you two while you’re firing shots off at one another, because I know I can survive whatever you hit me with and still have enough strength left to overcome both of you. I’ve made a career out of showing the world how much heart I have, and I’m going to show no fear to either of you when that bell rings come Animosity. I know that neither of you guys will understand it… but you’ll come to accept it when you’re both looking up at the lights and you see my arm raised in victory.”Fade to black.

August 10th, 2010 TGW Animosity Welcome to TGW, Camisado.. And Cicatrix.. And Terry and Krusty Groaning can be heard coming from a near-naked body that lays flat on the floor, covered merely by a pair of black, tight-fitting Hanes boxer briefs. Camisado, his face in the ground, shakes his head from side to side as the groans continue. He struggles to push himself up off the cold, tiled floor of his newly-acquired TGW locker room. As he picks himself up, he knocks the right side of his head against the underside of the toilet and quickly falls back to the floor, rubbing the affected area with his nearest hand. For a second time, he attempts to sit himself up, this time successful in doing so. From a sitting position on the floor, he forcefully rubs his eyes in an attempt to ready them for the bright bathroom lighting. This attempted eye-saving method did not do the job he had intended it to do, as he opened his eyes to what seemed to be the brightest of all the lights he had ever seen in his life. Another attempt to counter-balance the bright lights was a few long blinks as he allowed his eyes to become accustomed the lighting. This time, he came out on top. After a sigh and deep breath to express his discomfort, he gathered himself together and exited the bathroom, turning the light off behind him.
During the previous evening, his locker room had been very bare since he had only been in it for a week, so the locker room he saw now was a bit shocking, causing Camisado to blink repeatedly in an effort to remove what must be a mirage from his vision. His locker room looked glorious: from a king-sized mattress covered in a Buzz Lightyear bedspread and a plasma television planted into the wall to a fifty gallon fish tank that six small, silver-colored fish occupied. On the floor below laid his brother, known to the wrestling world as Cicatrix. While Camisado had woken up wearing minimal clothing, Cicatrix's situation was a bit different: he rose to face his brother wearing a multi-colored tank top with assorted sweat bands on his arms, a lime green margarita-themed scarf around his neck, a pair of cut-off blue jeans that ended slightly above his knees, one black stiletto and a party cap with frilly red strings escaping from the top.
As Cicatrix ran through the same method for relieving the early-morning stress on his eyes, he could feel a bit of discomfort in his manly region. He reached down inside his shorts and found a manual entitled 'How to Care For Your Shark.' Cicatrix began trading his gaze between Camisado and the manual. Confused, he asked his brother for possible explanation: "Why would I want to learn how to care for sharks?" A look of bewilderment overcame his face as he asked this.
Camisado carefully analyzed what his brother was asking, and it took him very much concentration to be able to process what was being asked. After a few moments, it clicked. Those weren't little badass fish swimming behind his brother after all. "Uh.. bro? Turn around. Looks like we've got new pets." Not quick to understand, Cicatrix slowly began to turn around to face the massive aquarium and the puny-looking sharks. He turned back to catch the glare of his brother as he began to grin. "I'm naming one Terry," Camisado added, as he too began to grin.
Cicatrix nodded as he pondered a name for one of his fish, as he must have earned at least half-ownership of the six sharks. He dropped down to the level of the new jet-black mini fridge in the corner of the room, opening it only to see Tupperware containers full of crab meat. In order to honor the fridge full of Eugene Krabs' fallen comrades, he chose his first shark's name, turning to his brother to speak. "I feel obligated to name one Krusty. It only seems right." He sighed as he closed the fridge, feeling guilty about the death of so many good crustaceans. He turns back to Camisado before speaking again. "So, what do we name the other four?"
Camisado's face became engulfed by an enormous smile as what he though was a tremendous idea lodged itself inside his stubborn and sometimes self-absorbed mind. "We'll worry about the rest later. I'll go ahead and name one after the punk I get my win against tonight." He began to nod his head up and down in order to assure himself that it was a phenomenal idea.
Although he thought it to be a fantastic idea for a naming ritual, his brother was not so amused. Cicatrix merely shrugged and lightly muttered, "Whaaatever, it's your shark, not one of mine." He secretly rolled his eyes as he looked away from Camisado. Letting out a bit of a giggle, he questioned his brother: "You know AJ Adams is gonna be pissed at you for last week.. And you've been out of wrestling for about a year now.. Why would you be so confident you're gonna win, bud?" Knowing this would hit a nerve with his brother, he winked in an attempt to lighten the mood of the situation.
Just as he had imagined, Camisado was not amused. He scoffed at his ignorant brother and folded in arms, looking like a pouty five-year-old. In a perturbed, monotone voice, he replied, "I'm gonna win." Before continuing, he felt it necessary to toss a nearby stick of Old Spice deodorant at Cicatrix. The hard plastic hit him hard enough to draw blood just above his eyebrow, though he failed to notice. Camisado sure got a kick out of it, though. "Of course I'm gonna win. This is just another old match with two guys who don't really know what Camisado they're up against. This Rupp kid doesn't know me, so I'm certain he won't be ready. And I was absolutely ripped the last time I wrestled AJ Adams last year, so I'm sure I wasn't at the top of my game. Of course I'll beat him. How dare he underestimate me!" Camisado pounded his right fist into his left palm in order to emphasize the final exclamation.
Meanwhile, Cicatrix laughed his brother's useless and poor scouting report of his opponents. Between laughs, he managed to spit out, "This dude never said he was underestimating you! You're the one that said that, dawg!" Cicatrix tossed his body onto Camisado's Buzz Lightyear-themed bed and continued his laughter. "By the way, you might want to find your boots, it's already three in the afternoon and they're not where you left them," he says this as he uses his forehead to motion behind Camisado, to the usual safe spot for his wrestling attire: in the corner of the room closest to the door, right where, when the door is opened fully, the attire would be hidden by the door in its new position. A pair of orange-and-sky blue spandex wrestling shorts sat in that spot, but no boots were in sight.
Fear overcame the TGW Superstar. Thoughts raced through his mind: "I can't wrestle barefoot. And if I can't wrestle, I can't win. If I can't win, I can't name my shark." Out loud, he yelled in near insanity: "WHO'S GONNA NAME MY SHARK?" Camisado's breathing began picking up, so he bent over and rested his hands on his knees in an attempt to catch his breath. Distressed, he looked towards his brother. "My fish cannot go unnamed. I can't call them Terry, number two and number three forever. That's not fair to them."[/b] Before Cicatrix could begin laughing, Camisado hurriedly rushed out of the locker room door without even dressing.[/color]
