Yours...or mine?
This week's episode of Animosity started off with TGW Founder, Wade Mason, standing in the middle of the ring with microphone in hand. Mason ran down the matches that were set for tonight and stressed that in the Ja-Gi Kyung Moon, Russell Franchise, and Jared Light match, as well as the Alex Wilkie, Kaori Shikagami, and Camisado match, the winners would decide to either keep their folders or to pick one of the other options. He then went on to say that next week each holder would defend their folder one more time and that after the match, the winner would open their folder live. He wished all of the competitors good luck and sent us to the announce table as Todd Evans and Scott Parker welcomed us to Animosity. Evans hyped the fact that we finally get to see Russell Franchise and JAGI square off in the ring. Parker started to give his thoughts and predictions on who had what folder, before getting drown out by the cheers of the fans as our first match competitors made their way to the ring.
Xaria Linette Vs. America Azuela
Linette and Azuela shook hands in the middle of the ring before the match started as the fans cheered on both competitors. Linette took the early lock up and showed off a few of her striking skills, landing a few elbows to the side of Azuela's head. After 4 or 5 quick shots, Azuela ducked and landed a standing dropkick to the surprise of Linette. Azuela threw up her 'A' sign to the fans, with their approval, and pulled Linette to her feet. Azuela sent Linette off the ropes but the Rainbow Angel came bouncing back with a cross body into a cover, and a kick out after 1.
Linette jumped to her feet and landed an uppercut on Azuela as she rose, making her stagger backwards. Azuela then stumbled forward and walked right into a drop toe hold, as Linette rolled her over and locked in a sharpshooter! Azuela was square in the middle of the ring but refused to submit as she tried to pull herself to the ropes, but couldn't seem to get close enough as Linette pulled her back. Azuela tried twisting her body, making it hard for Linette to hold on and finally getting her to break the hold. Azuela pulled herself up as Linette charged, and connected with a tornado DDT. Azuela took a second to catch her breath as Linette started to get to her feet. Azuela met Linette with a monkey flip and followed it with a shining wizard as Linette rolled to her knees! The fans were buzzing as Azuela climbed to the top ropes, looking for the Capital A, but as she dove Linette rolled away.
Linette then measured up Azuela, went running toward the ropes, jumped on the second set of ropes, turning mid-air and looked for a hurricarana. However, Azuela moved causing Linette to land on her feet, but her left knee buckled under her and she fell to the mat in pain. The referee ran over to the fallen Rainbow Angel and called for the match and yelled for some help. Azuela took a knee beside Linette as they waited for help.
TGW trainer, road agent, and Linette's boyfriend, Gabe Shelley, ran down to the ring and slid in. He knelt beside Linette as she took his hand. He was careful to slowly pick her up in his arms as he stepped through the ropes and down the ring stairs. Linette held onto Shelley's neck as Azuela made sure to guide the two up the ramp, to a standing ovation from the fans.
Winner: No Contest
We went ringside to Parker and Evans as Linette was helped to the back and the team hoped for the best. Parker then ran down the rest of the card as we went to the back to catch Alex Wilkie on his phone.
The Protector
Wilkie was approached by TGW's interviewer, Kirsten Shelley, who wanted to ask him a few questions. She asked him about how he called himself Horus, the protector, this week. Wilkie said he was here to protect the fans from bad wrestlers, big egos, and that he will be the protector of the TGW World Title. Check out the segment, HERE
David Blazenwing Vs. Lily Haris Vs. Harvey Clayton
Back in the ring, our 3 competitors were ready for our next match. This easily was set out to be a tough battle but quickly turned one sided. Clayton attacked Haris right at the start of the match, looking for revenge for their match on Animosity 1. Blazenwing sat back and watched as Clayton used his brute strength and landed a hard short-arm clothesline to Haris. He then began to stomp and kick at her as Blazenwing shook his head. He charged Clayton ran right past him and went off the ropes, gaining speed, and landed a huge spear! As Haris rose to her feet, Blazenwing met her with a spear! Blazenwing jumped to his feet and turned, waiting for Clayton to rise. Blazenwing finished the D-Day set and the fans were on their feet. Haris attacked Blazenwing from behind with a back drop.
Clayton was slow to rise and was met with a hard kick to the gut from Haris. She followed it up with a DDT, sending Clayton to the mat. She rose and turned around, catching the Full Effect in the jaw! Haris fell to the mat and Blazenwing covered for the win!
Winner: David Blazenwing
After the match, Blazenwing climbed on the second rung of the turnbuckle and made a gesture around his waist, calling for the belt. He jumped down and turned, right into a belly to belly suplex from Clayton! The fans began to boo as Clayton began to, what could only be described as stalk, Blazenwing. As Blazenwing rose, Clayton charged and dove, looking for a gore. Blazenwing quickly moved, sending Clayton shoulder first into the turnbuckle. As Clayton staggered backward and turned around, Blazenwing delivered the Full Effect! The New Hotness then smiled as he left the ring.
Bring the pain
Following the match, the cameras switched to the backstage area where Russell Franchise roamed the halls with his folder in hand. As he began to reach into his pocket, Jared Light began to pass. The two men shared silence before Franchise spoke up, telling Light that they should work together and make sure that JAGI doesn't win the match. Light kept quiet, letting Franchise go on about settling it in the ring. Just as Franchise started to use his catchphrase, “You bring the pain..”, Light cut him off and just told him to bring his folder as he walked away.
Steve Canyon Vs. Zachary Bryne
The next match was a debut match for two of the newest members on the TGW roster. Bryne started off with the early attack, using his speed to get a few kicks and punches in on Canyon. After a few blows, Bryne connected with a snap suplex. Bryne went off the ropes and jumped, looking for a leg drop, but Canyon moved out of the way. 'Sinister' Steve Canyon began to lift Bryne to his feet, sending him off the ropes again. Canyon met him with a huge spinebuster, rocking the mat. Canyon kept the assault going, pulling Bryne to his feet. Bryne however, landed a hard kick to the gut and used an Irish whip to send Canyon off the ropes. Bryne ducked for a back body drop, but received a facebreaker.
As Bryne fell backwards into the corner as Canyon charged, diving and landing a stinger splash. The two men met again in the middle of the ring and Canyon connected with a stalling suplex. Canyon eyed Bryne as he slowly pulled himself to his feet and walked right into the Sinister Edge followed by the 3 count.
Winner: Steve Canyon
As Canyon and Bryne left the ring, Parker and Evans hyped the next match. The following contest was a falls count anywhere match and was part of the 'Yours or Mine' matches. The winner would get to choose from the folder Jared Light had, or the one belonging to Russell Franchise. Parker then gave us an update on the status of Xaria Linette from earlier, only knowing that she hadn't yet been able to put any weight on her knee and was on her way to the hospital for tests.
Jared Light Vs. Russell Franchise Vs. Ja-Gi Kyung Moon
Falls Count Anywhere
Falls Count Anywhere
JAGI and Franchise stood in the middle of the ring as they exchanged words with one another. Jared Light was the first to start the match off with the offensive, running off the ropes and taking out both men with a spear on each shoulder. Light jumped to his feet as Franchise rolled to his feet first, however he walked right into a kick to the guy, followed by a hard shot to the side of the head. JAGI caught Light off guard, spending him hard into the mat with a running bulldog. JAGI and Franchise locked up next as the fans were excited to see what might happen. JAGI leaned into Franchise and connected with a knee to the gut and looked to set up a neck breaker. Franchise broke the move and went running off the ropes as JAGI turned around, right into a big running DDT.
The fans jumped to their feet as Franchise called for the 'A Game Stomp' and followed it with boots to the fallen JAGI. He yelled out “REMIX!” as he went off the ropes, looking to connect with the move. As he ran at JAGI who was still down, Franchise ran right into a running Yakuza kick from Light! The fans let out a collective “Oooooh!” as Franchise fell to the mat hard and rolled out of the ring. Light pulled JAGI to his feet and began to set up for a fisherman's suplex, but JAGI landed a couple of punches to the side of Light. JAGI hit a jawbreaker which made Light fall backwards, hitting the ropes and staggered forward. JAGI tried a cross body as Light came at him, but Light caught the Asian Sexsation and hit him with a modified T-Bone suplex.
Franchise slid back into the ring and broke up Light trying to pin JAGI, at two. Franchise pulled Light to his feet and sent him into the corner. Franchise got down in a three point stance, looking for the Game Changer, but as he went to charge Light, JAGI grabbed his foot making him fall on his face. JAGI jumped up and looked to end it with a small package on Franchise, but it was broke up at 2 by Light. The fans seemed evenly behind Light and Franchise every step of the way. Light pulled JAGI up and stood behind him, followed by a German suplex. He didn't let go however and locked his hands, pulling both himself and JAGI back to their feet. Light went to connect with another German suplex but JAGI grabbed the ropes to stop Light from being able to lift him.
JAGI spun around and hit a scoop slam on Light. Franchise was right on JAGI as the two began to exchange punches back and forth. After a few blows each, JAGI ducked one on Franchise's shots and locked him in a sleeper hold. The match seemed just about over until Light broke up the move to the cheers of the fans Franchise fell to a knee as Light landed a kick to the gut of JAGI, following it with the Treat! Before Light could go for the pin, Franchise connected with a Franchise Tag and a cover for 3!
Winner: Russell Franchise
After the match, Franchise was offered either his folder or Light's. Franchise didn't even hesitate and grabbed his folder and held it up to the fans. Before the next match began, Todd Evans gave us breaking news that Camisado was unable to compete tonight after being attacked in his dressing room. It was unknown who the attacker, as only a note with the name 'AJ Adams' was found beside him.
Kaori Shikagami Vs. Alex Wilkie
It was time for the main event and for the second week in a row, Kaori Shikagami looked to impress. She started the match off with a few elbows and forearms to Alex Wilkie, before he countered and landed a few punches of his own. The two battled back and forth before Wilkie gained the upper hand, as he locked in a sleep hold. Shikagami began to try and squirm her way out of the move, but Wilkie lifted her and dropped her with a sleeper slam. The fans cheered on Wilkie as he began to pull Shikagami to her feet.
Wilkie locked in a full nelson, trying to keep Shikagami from using any offense. He spun her around and landed a hard kick to her gut as she doubled over. He Wilkie followed it up with a lifting knee, causing Shikagami to fall backwards. Wilkie began to try and lock in a sharpshooter, but Shikagami kicked him away with her foot. Shikagami rolled to her feet as Wilkie turned around, right into a slap across the chest. It echoed throughout the arena as she landed another. She gained some momentum be going off the ropes and connected with a spinning wheel kick. She grabbed the ankle of Wilkie and applied an ankle lock.
They were too close to the ring and Wilkie grabbed the ropes almost instantly. The referee had to use the 5 count to get Shikagami to break the hold. He got to 4 before she would, almost drawing the disqualification. She helped Wilkie get to his feet as she landed a few left punches to his head. Wilkie ducked one of the punches and locked up and exploded with a belly to belly suplex! The fans were back to their feet, chanting and clapping for Wilkie to regain himself. Shikagami was up and Wilkie was hot. He knocked her down 3times, back-to-back-to-back with clotheslines as she kept going at him. He then tried to set her up in a Rock Bottom position, looking for the Chuck Taylor's Signature Grenade Drop, but Shikagami dislodged with a few hard elbows to his head.
Shikagami landed a DDT on Wilkie sending them both to the mat. The referee began the double count out before Shikagami was up at 6. Wilkie was right behind her and locked in a cobra clutch. It looked like Wilkie was going for a cobra clutch slam, but Shikagami grabbed the ropes and was able to push him off. She turned around and took Wilkie down with a spear.
Shikagami climbed to the top ropes and dove off, connecting with the Eye of the Tiger double foot stomp. She covered, but only got a two count. Wilkie tried to pull himself up but received a kick to the side of the head, making him fall. Wilkie seemed knocked out as the referee checked on him. He lifted Wilkie's arm twice and went for the third, but Wilkie was alert and didn't let it fall. He battled to his feet, fending off Shikagami with punches. She came at him and he met with with a running spinning elbow. Shikagami rose to her feet, disoriented and walked right into a Grade A Stunner and Wilkie covered for the win.
Winner: Alex Wilkie
After the match, Wilkie was given the choice of folders and decided to keep his after seemingly changing his mind 3 or 4 times. Wilkie climbed the second rung of the turnbuckle as he pointed out to the fans, and the screen went to the TGW logo, then black.
