[Single Match] Alistair Ambrosia Vs. Kaji Fireson
Limit: 2 Each Maximum First Deadline: Monday September 6th 11:59pm EST Final Deadline: Tuesday September 7th at 11:59pm EST Kirsten Shelley: While both scored a loss last week, each looked competitive. Fireson's loss came at the hands of being the odd man out in a triple threat match. He'll try to correct that mistake this week in his matchup.

This whole career revival thing really doesn't seem to be going too well, does it?
Kaji is kneeling in the corner of his basement, and there is only just enough light in the basement for us to be able to recognize it as such. There's actually a big circle of charred concrete around him, as if the floor once sustained a large ring of fire, but the flames are not active at this time. Kaji's red hair is up in a ponytail, but it seems less vivid than it has been in the past. His eyes are closed, so we can't say for sure whether his eyes are in a similarly faded state. His posture seems firm enough as he sits in seiza, the traditional Japanese kneeling position, face angled down. His chest is visibly expanding and retracting as he takes deep breaths, attempting to recompose himself through meditation.
Last week is hard to qualify. I didn't win the match. I didn't tap out like Alex Cage did, but I still got hit with the Franchise Tag, and I didn't get the win, so it still counts as a loss.
Did I mention that this whole revival thing hasn't really worked out?
Kaji takes another deep breath, but it's getting increasingly obvious that he's not really as composed as he'd like us to think he is. After another deep breath, he sighs and sags out of seiza, slipping back onto his ass and splaying his legs out across the soot lines. He's leaned back, supporting himself with his hands planted behind him on the concrete. His eyes are now opened, and they seem to be a bit faded as well, though whether it is the irises themselves or a haze above the eyes that is creating the effect. Either way, it's obvious that Kaji Fireson isn't happy with how things have gone for him lately.
So yeah. I see you there with the camera. I was hoping the scene you'd find yourself filming would be a little more serene, but I can't hide the fact that I'm rather discouraged right now. Allison is upstairs caring for Evelyn right now, which is rather generous of her, given that my career is not exactly soaring right now. I came to TGW for the fresh start, but it's rapidly turning into the same-old, same-old for me. I win sometimes, but I can't win the big one, and I'm headed right for the old downward slide that I was trying so desperately to escape.
So what do I do now? Do I give up? Do I retire? Do I take time off? Do I press on?
For Tuesday night, that doesn't matter, and for Alistair Ambrosia, it's irrelevant. For Alistair Ambrosia, and Kaji Fireson, on TGW Animosity on Tuesday night, it's just another night, just another fight in a quest for true glory. Will we ever find it? That's not for us to know, at least from this side of time. Perhaps Ambrosia will be the one contemplating retirement after Animosity; who knows? All I know is that I'm not just going to roll over for this man just because my body is tired. I have been through far worse and persevered, flourished even, than what I've endured here in TGW. If I can endure two career-threatening injuries and two spinal reconstruction surgeries, then I can bounce back from this. So prepare for battle come Tuesday night, Alistair. If you want to get a win, you're going to have to work for it.
Kaji sighs as he leans back, then forces himself up to his feet. His shoulders are sagged, his posture far from perfect, as he heads for the ring that he has in his basement. He slides into it and looks to start warming up, but he has one last word for the camera.
Our sport is an eternal quest for glory, Ambrosia. Will you succeed?
