I'm just going to go through a list of things:
As you see the news fader has been added (Really, it's just back) to the boards. It'll have things like upcoming events, a look at a match or two on the next Animosity, some OOC updates and maybe a touch on the past show.
What I would like to do is get input from all of you and add what you want to see to it. I feel like getting some more "In Character News" going in the news and rumors will add some spark. There is an area on the main website as well and EVERYONE is more than welcomed to send in things to be added to it. You don't have to call out your next opponent in just your roleplays, get involved and talk about it in the news and rumors area. Get more interactive with things.
If you notice under the links I added an easy access to the strat template. Feel free to send these in, along with segments. The more segments we have the bigger and better the shows are. Segments really drive storylines, feuds, and give me a guide of what direction you want to go. The people that seem to be highlighted each week in results are because of segments. This is just as much your fed as it is mine.
This is going to tie into something that will be coming soon to the main webpage. I had the idea months ago and just never took it anywhere and now, after one of you came up with a similar idea and talked to me, I'm going to try and see where we can take it.
There will be a new "Web-Zine" starting up run in character by TGW's Interviewer/Reporter, Kirsten Shelley. We did a couple interviews back last year and that will be coming back, I hope. The webzine will recap storylines, results, give insight, and will have snippets from all of you.
You are all more than welcomed to write short pieces of work for it if you're bored and have free time. Roleplaying and real life will come first, but if you want to be apart of it feel free.
Over the past few days there have been lots of updates. The bios on the main page, the theme index, etc. I hope to have the character directory up soon, but it won't be on the boards. If you look under the photo gallery on the main page you will see two albums. One of them has past characters and the other is current stars.
Finally, the thing I always touch on. Recruit, recruit, recruit. We've gotten a few new members recently and it's a great start. I've sent feelers out to people on RK, NeWA, and in other places. If I had a nickle for every time I've said this I'd be rich; "The best way to get new dedicated members, and to have more fun, is to bring in people you know."
Bringing in people you've worked with before or knows likes to roleplay will make things a lot more fun for all of us. We have a great core of people, it's awesome. At the same time, the more people here the easier it will be to start up feuds, storylines, and the more diverse matches we will have. I've always said and still hold on my stance that if we start to constantly carry a roster of 16-18 I would gladly bring in another title for all of you. (Who doesn't like titles?)
So get out there and talk to people you know. Even if they've never e-fedded but they like to roleplay, it's all about writing and having fun.
One final point actually, post. =) A big factor of bringing in new handlers is people looking to see how active a OOC area is. It's harder because we have the shoutbox that you can only see when logged in. It's also hard because of things like facebook, myspace, and Twitter. People use those to interact with people which hurts OOC areas compared to 5 or 6 years ago. I put the Media Down Load hoping to spark some conversations.
Football season is just about here and I know of at least two people that love football, talk about it. I know there are two people here to like soccer, go for it. We all love music and movies, chit chat. Tell jokes, show funny pictures, or post funny vids. I'll be adding some more threads to try and garner some activity in the coming days, so let's capitalize on it.
TGW's going places people, let's take it someplace great. Feel free to talk about ideas in the Mind Mapping area, OOC, PM me, reply to this... anything you feel like.
Word,
-Gabe
