Aaron Rupp Journal Entry Wednesday, October 20, 2010
Coming out of this past weekend, I have to say that I'm both a little disappointed and a little happy at the same time. On one hand, I went into TGW's Outside Assault PPV challenging the legendary Michael "Snake Eyes" Cavenaugh for the prestigious NWA World Title, battled Christian Savior at SCW's Under Attack PPV, and made a shocking return to the Volatile Wrestling Alliance at their Fallout PPV as a mystery entrant in their annual Royal Rumble. In all three of these battles, I put forth everything I had and in the case of the two singles matches I had, I forced my opponents to go that extra little bit to get the win over me. In the case of the Royal Rumble, I had a pretty good showing and did fairly well for myself. On the other hand, I failed to come out victorious in any of these events. Cavenaugh made me tap out to retain his title, Savior pinned me after nailing me with his Spear of Destiny just like he did to weaken me a few nights earlier, and I was eliminated from the Royal Rumble by the man who ended up winning the entire thing.
But through all of this, I have plenty to learn from that's only going to make me a better wrestler and bring me one step closer to my goal of trying to help save wrestling from the egotism that is slowly killing it.
This past weekend was a small setback for me, but nothing I can't bounce back from. As far as TGW is concerned, my next opponent is a man named Orange Star, who's been on the indy scene for a while and was happy as hell when TGW signed him to pull him off that circuit. But despite that, I sadly haven't seen a whole lot from the guy despite how good he claims to be coming in from the indies. Hell, he didn't even show up to Outside Assault at all. Is that really how you thank TGW for signing you on when you so desperately wanted to be here?
I don't think so.
The next Animosity is going to see me face Orange Star and see whether or not he truly wants to be a part of TGW. We're going to find out if he can handle the pressure and, win or lose, be able to keep up with the TGW Champion. This is a big opportunity for him, and he's really going to have to step it up if he wants to win. I'm going to wish him luck, but he's going to need a lot of it if he doesn't have the passion to be here.
