This week I've been asked numerous times, “Why did you attack Camisado backstage on Animosity?”
The answer is simple, I needed to make an impact. True Glory Wrestling is just one week away from it's first ever Pay-Per-View, No Limits, and what better time to show that I'm here to be the best? What better time to come in and show that I'm not here to make the fans laugh, cheer, or fall in love with me? What better way to say that I'm here for me and only me?
Camisado was just the unlucky pick to get attacked, it wasn't personal. I've actually seen tapes of Camisado from his career; FWF, BWF, his matches in TGW, and I believe he has great talent. He's one of those guys that has the skills but just hasn't made it yet. I know in the back of his mind he is thinking about No Limits, he's thinking about his folder, and just getting the chance to show the world that he is going to make it. That Wade Mason calling him and signing him to the first TGW contract wasn't just because he was a free agent, but because he is a great star. I mean, the fans love him so that's a plus. In a wrestling company you either want one of your top faces to be your champion or you want someone that will do anything for the win. People like me, people like Steve Canyon, people that are going to not care about what the fans think.
Or you can rely on people like David Blazenwing. I'm not saying that Blazenwing is washed up or isn't a star. Last week he showed that he can handle his own still and had a fantastic match. There are also the people like Russell Franchise who the fans love to hear but are still in that mid-card section of rosters. Some companies will take a chance on them winning the big one and seeing where it takes them. Those companies pride themselves on building up a star from the ground up.
This company is one that many people laughed at when it opened. The wrestling world lost Epic Wrestling Organization and 3 rose from those ashes. Stars from eWo went to those 3 and people were banking on each. First there was the eXWF, and a handful of eWo's stars went there. People had high hopes for the Seattle based company and it had the talent. It however didn't last long and has closed it's doors. Then, we have the Absolute Pro and it's on it's way. It just finished up it's rounds in South America and on it's way to it's first Pay-Per-View. Absolute Pro has a handful of eWo's stars and the company is doing great.
Then, True Glory. TGW is the company that no one really thought would make it. AbPro and eXWF were said to do better. Right now, AbPro would be considered the better success and TGW hanging in there. Could TGW be better? Sure, couldn't ever where? That's why I picked it, that's why I'm here. I'm going to come in and take TGW to the heights that it should be. I'm not claiming to be a savior, protector, or any of that junk. I'll let Alex Wilkie do that.
What I am here for, is to be the best. Will I be the brightest star? Will I sell the most merchandise? Who knows, that's not for me to decide.
This week I am going to simply walk into the ring and beat Camisado. It doesn't matter if I make him tap out with the anklelock, or I take him out with the Last Call. After Monday night, I will be taking Camisado's folder and walk into No Limits with some sort of title shot. It'll be either be a stepping stone and I'll be in battle for the Volitionary title, or I'll be thrust into the main event scene and fight for the World title. Maybe Lady Luck will be on my side at Animosity. One thing I know for sure, it won't be for Cami.
There are plenty of people that are banking on someone like Alex Wilkie or David Blazenwing to be the top contender in this company. I'll make sure I put my two cents in. If anyone wants to challenge that, then I say step right up. Cami, I'll see you Monday. Friday afternoon. 2:10pm. Downtown San Diego, California. It's a mostly sunny and right about 80 degrees downtown the home of TGW's Animosity. The wind is coming off the ocean and it's more windy than some might care for. AJ Adams doesn't mind it, however. His hair keeps blowing in his face as he doesn't usually like to pull it back, especially on a warmer day like today. Downtown San Diego is busy today with a lot of people walking about enjoying the day. Since it's still before 5 though, it's not the stressful busy that drives AJ nuts. He has a moving fan parked outside the building that he is moving into. He will be living on the 7th story of a building that feels like it could be a new home, not just a place you move into because it's closer to work. It's a 29 story high rise building in the Little Italy of downtown San Diego, just a few blocks away from the TGW Arena. Short enough that AJ plans on jogging to the arena on Monday to loosen up for his match against Camisado. It's less than a mile so it's not too straining but it's perfect to get your blood moving. AJ has just finished unloading his moving truck and looks up to his door, smiling as he walks inside. He promises himself that he will try to take the stairs as many times as possible, but that moving all of his stuff into the apartment was too much of a pain and decides to take the elevator. As he waits for it to come down from the 19th story, a woman walks in and stands by the elevator doors. She's of average height for a female, maybe no more than 5ft 10. Average build with blonde hair that seemed to just flow past her shoulders. She smiles at AJ as he is holding the last small box of his things. “Hi.”, she says to get his attention. “What floor did you move into? I assume that's your moving truck outside.” “Yeah, it is. I just got my things into the 7th floor. Get to spend the rest of the weekend unpacking them, if not longer”, he chuckles. “I'm sure you and your girlfriend will have plenty to do.” “Oh, it's just me up there. No misses or anything like that, not for a while now.”, he smiles. He thinks to himself that he is better off without HER anyway, though we don't know who her is. “I see, well, if you need any advice on where to eat or anything like that, I'm in 625.” “No way, I'm in 725. You're right below me”, she smiled as he said this. “That's great! The people who used to live under me were horrible. They would play loud music at all hours of the night and stomp around. I never could get them to stop”, she brushed her hair out of her face and grinned. “I'll make sure to try and keep it down”, he said with a wink. The elevator doors opened as the two walked inside. AJ had that feeling of home again and he liked it. He felt that this was just the first step into a new life, winning his match on Monday was step two. As the elevator doors closed, AJ smiled as he looked at the woman. “Hi, I'm AJ.” “Hi AJ, I'm Cassie.”
