Welcome everyone to another edition of TGW's Animosity! We are live from San Diego, California and are just a few short weeks away from Retribution. Hello, my name is Stan Brooks and I'm excited to be ringside yet again to follow the action along and relay it to everyone at home. Tonight we have an exciting show as both titles are on the line but the big story, is that AJ Donavon has vacated the TGW Title due to visa issues and being shipped back to Canada. So that leaves us with Cody Only and AJ Adams to battle it out for the title.
I've also been told that we have a somewhat new setup for the weekly recaps here in the sense of going about how the Pay-Per-Views come off. There may be times where we switch back to the live feed on TrueGlory.com and follow action backstage.
Right now, we are getting ready for the debut match of Che Ortega who is set to face Shogun Tsuruga. Shogun had an impressive win last week and so far has looked unstoppable. Ortega awaits Shogun as the fans are ready for the action to start.
Ortega attacks Shogun as he steps over the top rope as the bell sounds. Ortega lands a few kicks to the left leg of Shogun but the giant pushes him away and gets into the ring. The new comer reaches and connects with a few right elbows and sends Shogun off the ropes. Ortega is waiting on the rebound and jumps up, hitting a Thesz press and begins to land a few hard shots. Shogun gets his arms up to block the blows and the fans are loving it.
They are behind Ortega as he jumps up and throws his arm up in the air. It might be a little premature because Shogun is already to his feet. Ortega turns around and is hit with a running palm strike that sends the crowd into boos. Shogun laughs it off and slowly pulls his opponent to his feet, locks him up and sends him into the corner. The big man charges and lands a big lariat! Ortega falls forward to his knees and Shogun is heading off the ropes and hits a running knee! Ortega falls backwards and Shogun doesn't waste time and is pulling him back to his feet. Ortega tries to fight back with a few lefts and rights, Shogun tries a clothesline but Ortega ducks it. He looks for the O-Lock (Full Nelson) but Shogun is using his strength to not let him lock in the move. Ortega looks for a German suplex but Shogun is holding the ropes. Before he can try it again, Ortega is hit with a hard elbow that sends him stumbling.
Shogun turns around and lands a kick to the midsection and follows it with a knee to the gut. As Ortega is doubled over, Shogun sets him up and hits the Destiny : Apocalypse (Powerbomb, followed by a jumping curbstomp.) Shogun draws heat by kneeling and places his knee on the chest of Ortega for the 3 count victory.
Winner: Shogun Tsuruga [Pinfall]
Ortega looks dominate in another match as he just over-powered the new comer, Che Ortega. Shogun heads up the ramp slowly as we are treated with a video clip of Cody Only and AJ Adams and how we got to where we are today and their match up. The fans seem to be evenly split between cheering for Adams and Only as the video plays. To my left, Scott Parker and Todd Evans are running down the next match.
Last week we saw David Blazenwing be apart of a beat down on AJ Adams. Shane Magnus made a run in to make the save for Adams and this week they are facing off. Magnus seems to be standing up for the “what's right” approach and feels that Blazenwing needs to be taught a lesson.
Blazenwing went for a charge at the bell and got the early advantage over the newcomer, with Magnus shoved HARD into a corner and hammered with some hard chops to the chest. Whips him to the other corner and charges - right into an Magnus boot to the head. Blazenwing staggers out and Magnus is on him quickly, hitting a Russian leg sweep into a pinning combination for a two count. Magnus up to a nice pop, he waves his hand waiting for Blazenwing to get up, and lands a smooth roundhouse kick. When he does. He goes for a second, Blazenwing catches - Magnus with the enziguri and Blazenwing decided to roll out of the ring - Magnus crouches down and gets a nice show of respect for the crowd for the skills he's brining to the table.
Blazenwing slowly steps on the apron, lets himself in and challenges Magnus to a test of strength. Magnus goes for the one hand lockup, then goes quickly into an armwringer, falling forward on the arm to make it into a wakigatame. He lets up on the arm, grabs the leg and goes for a crossbow, but the veteran is too close to the ropes - he grabs them and cuts the offense short, then drops Magnus with a leg whip. Dave jaws with the crowd as Magnus gets up, which allows the rookie to take him down with a go-behind, then cinch on a headlock as Blazenwing gets back up. Blazenwing breaks the momentum again with a rake to the eyes, then slaps him around with a series of hard chops before landing a nice Sit-Out Facebuster; he then grabs Magnus by the arm and delivers a series of shortarm clotheslines, dragging him back up after each one. After the third blow, he pulls him up again and whips him into the corner, and follows in with a charging elbow, and Blazenwing's really taking Magnus to school here.
He rolls Magnus over and locks in a crossface chickenwing, but Magnus shows the heart and grabs the ropes, which aren't too far away. Blazenwing goes for an armtwist before the ref can even break them up, drags him away and hits a northern lights suplex. Cover - 2 count. Blazenwing takes over with kicks and knees to the back, then picks him up and hits a firemans carry rib breaker. And another two. Blazenwing lands a full nelson suplex, followed by a front facelock for about 5 seconds before a "Let's Go Magnus" chant starts up. He goes for a suplex, but Magnus blocks it. He tries again, and Magnus reverses into a nice hip toss that gets the crowd going - and Blazenwing runs into ANOTHER hiptoss after that! Blazenwing, furious now, charges - right into a Double A Spinebuster!
Magnus off of the ropes, goes for a spinning elbow drop that lands right in Blazenwing's chest! The six time champ stumbles to the turnbuckle clutching his chest, allowing Magnus to run over to the opposite ropes behind him and hit the Light of the World lungblower! Magnus spins around an appeals to the crowd, clearly looking to go for the win. Blazenwing slowly, but surely, is pulling himself to his feet via the ropes. Magnus charges and runs right into the Shock Lock (Crossface)! Blazenwing is trying to lock in the hold but Magnus is thrashing about to try and stop him. He is able to then in a swift motion roll forward out of the move and to his knee. Blazenwing charges and looks for a hard clothesline but Magnus ducks and jumps to his feet.
Magnus then lands a kick to the gut and follows it up with the Peace Maker (Modified Double Underhook Facebuster), covers! 1...2...3!
Winner: Shane Magnus [Pinfall]
The fans pop as Magnus scores the 3 count and he jumps to his feet and points out to the crowd and smiles. Magnus looks at the fallen Blazenwing and then leaves the ring. It looks like we are about to go to the backstage area so lets check out the live feed on TrueGlory.com.
The cameras take us backstage where Tsuruga is heading towards his locker room after his match. Grabbing a towel from one of the crew members, he heads around the corner and opens the door to his locker room, trying to flip the switch. However, the lights don't turn on. Confused at what's going on, he heads in, looking for another switch somewhere in the room. Once the door closes, the lights suddenly turn on and an unknown woman is perched up on the table as though she was a cat. Tsuruga's eyes slowly widen and his jaw drops.
Shogun Tsuruga: You!!
The mystery woman smiles and suddenly sprays black Asian mist in his face, having him flare out everywhere from the pain of the mist. She strikes him with a lightning fast high kick to the head before poking him in the eyes. Flipping off the table, she connects with a kick to the jaw, having him fly back onto the floor. She grabs him and tosses him straight into the lockers - his head makes a loud CLANG off the steel. A bloody Tsuruga staggers back and the mystery woman dropkicks him back into the lockers, sending him staggering forward into a kip up frankensteiner through the table! She stands and kneels above his motionless body and gives a half smile, wiping the black liquid from her lips.
Woman: Yeah...me.
She gets up and leaves the room, leaving a completely obliterated Tsuruga lying in a heap of carnage.
I can't believe what just happened, as Shogun has been nearly unstoppable since his debut 3 weeks ago. Whoever that was just had her way with him and not in an enjoyable way. Still in the backstage area, we see Russell Franchise walking around the arena in his wrestling gear, yelling for Steve Canyon. Word has it that no one has seen Canyon all night and was planning a sneak attack on the champ. Someone yells out for Franchise and Wade Mason walks into view.
Mason: Hey Russell, I have some bad news. Canyon won't be here tonight, I won't get into why but he has been released from his contract.
Franchise: You're kiddin' me right? I was ready to whoop his ass too!
Mason: Well, I want you to do something for me. You're one of the definitions of what TGW is all about. You've yet to lose a match, you're tough, speak your mind, and do whatever it takes. You've handled yourself well over the past few weeks and took place in one of the best cage matches I've ever seen. Next week I want you to bring your A game. Step it up to a new level because you're going to be in a match with someone that is going to bring a whole new style to the company. He's simply, Q.
Mason leaves as Franchise looks almost stumped.
That leaves us to only one thing – it's time for the main event and you can tell the fans are ready. The referee for the match is making his way out and is carrying the vacant TGW Title with him. I'm going to make a bold prediction and say this is going to go down as the greatest match in TGW's short history.
AJ Adams enters first, a calm but focused look in his eye - he's been on a little bit of a rough patch before getting this match - and even though it wasn't really his fault, he knows he'll have to execute tonight to become TGW Champion.
As for Cody, he enters to "This Calling" as usual, stopping several times on his way to the ring to acknowledge fans along the aisle, even autographing a poster on his way down. Entering the ring, he offers a handshake to Adams, who accepts it with a great deal of reluctance.
The match starts with a collar/elbow tieup, which Adams gets the better of, moving into a standing armbar. Cody broke out fairly quickly, but walks into a couple of hip-tosses. But when Adams sends him to the ropes, however, Only is able to take the offense away with a quick shoulder to the gut. Only then takes control of the match with a series of power moves, scooping up Adams for a bodyslam, then pressing him overhead and slamming him back down again. Several stiff forearm shots and a short-arm clothesline followed, and then a forward fallaway slam. He finishes up by pulling Adams to his knees and hitting his trademark spinning elbow combination.
Only pauses and tries to get the crowd behind him after whipping Adams into the ropes - and Adams hits the Eat It fameasser on the rebound, then climbs up top as Only stood up, and catches him with a flying bodypress to pull a 1-count. Only rolls him up immediately afterwards and gets a one count, and then Adams bridges over for a two count!
There's a big pop from the crowd at this display, and Adams then rolls out of the ring, only to have Only catch him with a baseball slide! After that, Cody's offense sputters a bit, as he begins a series of chops that Adams matches him blow-for-blow on, eventually getting the better of the Michigan native and scooping him up for a backbreaker on the outside.
Adams rolls Only in, sensitive to beating the count. AJ gets an armtwist in, then nails a forearm smash to the back that drops Only to the canvas. Adams tries for a stepover toehold, but Only pivots on his hands and kicks him away into the ropes. Adams comes off the ropes and leaps over Only, but on the backtrack Only nails him square in the jaw with a HUGE dropkick. Adams scrambles to his feet either from adrenaline or having been knocked loopy, and Cody hits another dropkick. Only moves in with a savate kick, Adams catches the leg, and Only scores an enziguri that drops Adams hard to the canvas. Only then locks in a reverse achilles tendon hold, but AJ manages to find his way to the ropes.
Only yanks him back off the ropes, then drives his knee into the canvas. Adams squeezes his eyes shut, maybe trying to block out the pain, but it doesn't help much as Cody drives the knee in again. Only drops two knees onto the knee this time, then drags him to the middle of the ring and wraps a figure four onto AJ! The ref asks the technician if he wants to quit and AJ shakes his head no, and for a match with these stakes you can't imagine much else. After a few seconds of this, Adams manages to reverse the figure four, then grabs onto the ropes for leverage while the ref asks Only if he wants to give! Finally, the ref turns and sees Adams grabbing the ropes and forces the break.
AJ shrugs his shoulders at Cody with a wide smile and gives a clean break.
Cody slowly stands up -and then gives AJ a hard kick to the face. He then shrugs at his fellow #1 contender the same way, to big applause from the crowd. AJ rises, and Cody then hits a spinning heel kick that sends him to the corner. Big series of chops by Cody, then a whip to the opposite turnbuckle. Cody then charges in with a flying headscissors that dumps Adams over the top rope. Both men are really going out of their comfort zones tonight, but the high risk and high reward might make sense when it's a reward like this one. Cody climbs to the top rope and comes off the top with a thrusting yakuza kick - but AJ grabs it in midair and hits a modified capture suplex right into the referee!
Both Cody and the ref are down - AJ looks around for a few seconds, and then goes to the outside and picks up a steel chair to intense booing from the crowd, who've been whitehot for the match so far. Adams looks at the chair for a long time, then looks at Only... then back at the chair... and finally dumps the chair back onto the ground to the approval of the fans in the Google Arena. Adams slaps the ref on the cheek a few times, and as he slowly rouses himself, Adams circles the still downed Cody only - once the ref is recovered enough to nod his head, AJ moves in -
Right into a possum pin!
It only gets a two count - Adams smirks at the effort, then picks Cody up, fires a couple of right hands before hitting the Trifecta suplex. Cover for a 2 count. Adams then goes for a vertical suplex, but Only shows a little more life and reverses it and going for a clothesline - AJ ducks under that and hits a big German suplex. He runs to the turnbuckle and stretches his arms out to the crowd - getting maybe his biggest pop of the night before connecting with the Truly Awesome shooting star press. Covers!

Two count! AJ doesn't quite look frustrated. He picks Cody's leg up and goes for an ankle lock - but Cody rolls out of the move and bounces him into the ropes - going for a shining wizard on the rebound - that hits nothing but air as AJ grabs the ropes! With Only down, AJ takes that small opening and hits his Last Call codebreaker - the crowd explodes again and counts to three along with the referee - finally, there's a NEW TGW Champion!
The fans lose it as Adams jumps to his feet as he is handed the TGW Title. Looking down at it, smiling, before holding it high and acknowledging the fans and their support. Only begins to stir and Adams helps him to his feet. Cody raises the hand of Adams and gets a big pop from the fans. A “that was awesome” chant is going on across the arena as the two men hug, then shake hands. Only raises Adams' arm one more time in victory before the music cuts off and a voice is heard.
As "The City is at War" plays, with AJ Adams celebrating his big title win, a voice suddenly interrupts the proceedings.
: You have got to be fucking kidding me.
Heads turn, cameras spin and try to locate the source, and then a spotlight singles out a form at one of the crowd entrances, surrounded by a personal security squadron equipped in riot gear. At the very sight of him, the audience turns hateful.
Jack Darling: THIS is what this business has fallen to?
He starts making his way down the steps and through the crowd, the riot shields opening a path for him, keeping his eyes fixed on AJ Adams and Cody Only in the ring.
Jack Darling: Wrestling is the "sport of kings." Champions of this industry have "wined and dined with kings and queens." And what we get... is you.
He shakes his head and points at Adams.
Jack Darling: You, you second-rate Nick Xero look-alike, are only champion because AJ Donavon-- like the bitch that he is-- cracked under the pressure of FINALLY having the spotlight on himself. Honestly, who the fuck forgets to renew his work visa these days?
Cody Only shouts something that isn't picked up by a microphone, but Darling can clearly hear him.
Jack Darling: "Fuck me?" Fuck you! Who the fuck are you to talk to me? What gives you any right to speak to me? You LOST to this emo-wannabe, who only got a title-shot because the Trendsetting Bitch went home! You're both at least two rungs below Donavon, who's on the same level as whale shit.
He spits on the floor, still ignoring the booing of the crowd, which has started to chant "Fuck You, Darling!" Adams and Only encourage them.
Jack Darling: True Glory. There's a laugh. A company headquartered in the asshole of California, run by a shit-stain like Wade Mason who won't give Yours Truly-- Jack Darling-- the goddamn time of day, and whose level of talent is so pathetically low that AJ Donavon ascends to be called a champion.
He finally reaches the barricade, his personal riot squad still keeping the fans at bay.
Jack Darling: If that's the measure of "true glory," then I am so far above you I must be in fucking orbit.
A voice intterupts from the stage.
: I might be crazy, Jack.
The camera pans to the top of the ramp, and the crowd gives a huge pop as they see Absolute Pro's Teresa Quaranta at the top of it, accompanied by the woman that ambushed Tsuruga earlier in the night. Teresa scratches her head at Darling and the riot cops in mock puzzlement.
Teresa Quaranta: I've been getting a lot of that lately. But for a guy that calls himself the "Absolute Bastard", I was expecting just a little more sizzle, yanno? In Seattle, you had this twenty minute verbal beatdown of everybody on the roster. In South America, you lit up the main players and had like a half hour long entrance like you were the Undertaker or something. And now that we're right here, in San Diego, California...
The crowd gives that patented hometown pop as Teresa and the mystery woman make their way to the ring.
Teresa Quaranta: I guess you just decided to pop up and yell "I'M AWESOME" at the top of your lungs and hope people care. Are you on a solo world tour or something? Are you feeling a little exhausted?
She shakes her head and points at the mystery woman.
Teresa Quaranta: Well, Jack - you aren't the only one! I am EXHAUSTED. My friend here is EXHAUSTED. The two professional wrestlers in that ring are EXHAUSTED. Everybody here in attendance is EXHAUSTED, and you aren't helping. See, What you don't understand is that we just saw, in the purest form possible, everything this sport has been for the last fifty years, from the smallest gyms to the largest arenas - two guys... pushing each other. In an honest, legitimate competition. To see who the best was and to become just a little better.
Teresa and the mystery woman enter the ring, covering for the exhausted champion and challenger and facing down Darling and the security team.
Teresa Quaranta: And you might have a lot to say about that, I think I can speak for everyone here in attendance when I say that what I saw left me speechless. Cody Only? AJ Adams? I will NEVER forget what I saw here tonight. Winners and losers aside... the two of you are the epitome of everything that TGW is and is striving to become. Thank you.
A dueling "Thank you, Co-dy / Thank you AJ" chant briefly starts as Teresa's friend pulls the new champion to his feet.
Teresa Quaranta: As for you Jack? Nobody here is interested in you rolling over this roster, NOBODY here in San Diego wants to listen to your lectures, and I - and you look me in the eyes when I tell you this Jack, I am NOT going to let you rip yet ANOTHER company apart to appease your own corrupt ego!
Without warning, she suddenly spins and delivers a superkick that connects with the point of AJ's jaw and drops him to the mat - the Google Arena is quiet for a half second, and then explodes in boos.
Teresa Quaranta: At least not all by yourself.
Cody Only immediately heads towards Teresa, coming to make the save, but is taken out within the blink of an eye by the mystery woman, who blindsides him with a stiff sidekick straight to the face. Teresa continues to maul AJ with stomps to the head, having his head literally bounce on the mat. The mystery woman walks towards Only and grabs him by the hair, pulling him back to his feet. He staggers up and looks her straight in the eyes before she rolls her eyes at him and sends a backhanded chop right to his temple, knocking him out.
Teresa picks Adams up and grabs him by the head, continuously sending knees into his face until his nose starts gushing with blood. The fans are booing religiously all over the Google Arena as she tosses him into the corner. Adams struggles to stand, but barely has the energy and is taken out by a sick stiff kick by Teresa. The mystery woman shouts to her and she turns to see her taking a pair of handcuffs out of her back pocket and tossing them to her. Teresa catches them and proceeds to handcuff Adams to the ropes as the mystery woman takes the mic.
Woman: You think that you have been through a lot? Have you ever witnessed a brutal murder before? Maybe you have...maybe you haven't. But in case you have and just forgot, let us remind you.
The woman grabs Cody Only by the hair and raises him up, sending straight back down to the mat with a curb stomp. She then locks on a reverse armbar while Teresa heads over and puts in several knee drops to the back of Only's head. The mystery woman turns Only around and sets him up on the top rope facing out to the crowd. She climbs the top rope and climbs onto his back in a leg trap position. Teresa shouts her approval and tells her to "do it!" and the mystery woman immediately flips off the top rope with Cody Only, landing into flipping sitout powerbomb! The fans are in shock and booing as AJ Adams is flipping in the corner, trying to get himself out the handcuffs and pissed at what's going on before him. The mystery woman rolls off Only as Teresa takes a hold and brings him up to his feet, which is extremely difficult due to the fact that he's completely out. TGW officials are trying to make their way into the ring to help the two men, but the mystery woman is standing guard at the ropes, daring them to come in. Teresa takes a moment and looks at Darling before running towards Cody Only and the spinning around his back - locking her legs around Only's right arm and looping her free hand over his left and wrenching it backwards. With both of his arms unnaturally stretched, the jolt of the hold revives Cody for a moment, and the crowd pops as he staggers forward for a step - and the cheers turn to more booing and Teresa pulls backward, dragging them both to the floor. After a long few seconds, Cody's eyes float unnaturally in his head, the mystery woman nudges Teresa, who releases the Cruelty's Heart and stands with a maniacal look.
Adams is completely red in the face with anger as Jack Darling makes his way over the barricade with a big evil smile on his face, enjoying every bit of the carnage in the ring. Teresa and the mystery woman stand facing Adams as the new TGW Champion looks before his surroundings. The mystery woman picks up the TGW World title and looks at it as though it was a piece of missing treasure she's just discovered before crouching in front of Adams with the title in her arms as though it was a pet, smiling at him just out of reach as he grabs at her. He climbs into the ring and struts towards Adams, who stares him down in the eyes with gritted bloody teeth.
Jack Darling: Not enough sizzle, you said?
Quaranta puts her hand over her heart, as if ashamed.
Teresa Quaranta: Perdóname, I think that this counts for plenty.
She waves her hand over the ring as the crowd boos. Darling nods, then turns to the handcuffed AJ Adams, advancing on him, but staying outside the champion's reach.
Jack Darling: Now AJ, I want you're used to thinking of people like David Blazenwing as a threat, so let me introduce you to the cast.
He points to the mystery woman.
Jack Darling: The woman you saw dropping Cody Only on his head with such gleeful abandon is Reina Morgan... and I do so love people who love what they do. If you plugged her name into a quality search engine, like say...
He stops for a minute pretending to think about it.
Jack Darling: Bing... you'd find an outcast in the western hemisphere, a person who's repeatedly sworn not to step foot in the United States - but let's face it, when any fighter worth their salt gets a call with guys like us on the ID, you know before you pick it up that it's something worth your time.
He points to Quaranta.
Jack Darling: Teresa Quaranta, almost a year long unbeaten run in NFW, unbeaten for Absolute Pro's run, easily one of the best in the world, and pretty much orchestrated this entire shindig. I always wondered what would happen if you put that brain of yours to better uses. So far, so good.
He gives her a nod of approval, which she returns. He then strikes a variation of his infamous "release the doves" pose while keeping the microphone near his mouth.
Jack Darling: And there's me. Two-time eWo World Champion, Grand Slam winner, widely recognized as the best professional wrestler that Planet Earth has to offer. I guess between us, you have something like a Blacklist of professional wrestling... it's a list that's only going to get longer in the weeks to come.
He pauses for effect, and to bask for a moment in the hate spewing from the fans, who are throwing trash at the ring, and he smirks in AJ Adams' face.
Jack Darling: We are the start of something amazing, AJ. You will not like us-- in all likelihood, you'll hate us-- but we will endure your hatred, because greatness is rarely respected in its time.
He stops as Adams spits in his face. The crowd cheers for this as Darling's face goes wooden. He reaches up, wipes the spittle off his cheek, and regards it thoughtfully, while the champion shouts invective at him.
Then Darling clobbers him in the skull with the microphone. He steps back, picks up the TGW Championship belt, and leaves it just outside Adams' reach on the mat. With that finished, Darling signals to Quaranta and Reina Morgan, and the three members of the Blacklist finally leave the ring and allow Security to escort them away, while the trash continues to rain down.
The camera lingers on the sight of AJ Adams, bloodied, handcuffed to the ropes, reaching in vain for his TGW Championship.
