First off, welcome to TGW. I think it's safe to assume you dropped in because there was something you liked about the place - you liked the look, or one or two of your friends are already here, or you liked the writing, or something else.
TGW is an original wrestlers only, we do not accept REAL people.
A lot of people come through here (or just feds in general) with a lot of enthusiasm, but can't keep that enthusiasm going for long enough to promo for their first show or start a feud or any of the things that make the game interesting. Sometimes it's because of real life commitments, sometimes it's because you can go up to a week without being carded depending on when you sign up. So in that spirit, we cooked up a quick starter's guide for things you could do right now to introduce yourself to the fed and/or get your character off to a running start.
- Post a promo. The Character Developmental area has a lot of odds and ends from TGW's star players - while you can't get formally credited for something that's posted here, posting something from the history of your character can get other members talking and encourage them to work angles out with you. Even if you're debuting a new character, posting a writing sample helps management get a general sort of feel for your style.
- Feedback. There are some places where people feel like you haven't "earned" the right to give your thoughts on something until you've written a bunch of stuff, but this isn't one of those places - people like getting responses, regardless of the responders experience level. Giving feedback on a show is also a good way to get into the mix of things. - Send your ideas. This is for sure the best way to stand out on a card - when you read results and see some people with larger roles than others, it's almost always because they sent in written segments or angle ideas. If it's something solo, you obviously can put it together yourself - if you're working with someone, you'll need to work with them. Post something on the Mind Mapping board if you need a partner!
- Make a Behind the Scenes post. The "Behind The Scenes" thread is a good way to get your character interacting with someone without having to put out the effort of a big segment. Of course, you won't make a National TV level impact either, but sometimes a fast friendship or quick tension with a co-worker is a good lead-in to a strong storyline, or even as inspiration and background for your first promo.
-Introduce yourself in the Behind the Screen thread in the Country Club. This is a small Q&A about you personally - it's always better to know the people around you because it makes for a better community. We are all open and friendly here, so just say hi!
Like most things, this place is what you make of it - good luck!
