The Rule Book
The Rules of RolePlaying
1. Starting off with something that seems to be a major topic in some feds. If you use swear words, that's fine. BUT if you use it every other word and in bad taste, you're RP will NOT be judged. For the most part, we are very relaxed on this rule and do not go out and censor your work. We all swear, so it's ok if your character does.
2. No using others handlers characters without consent. So do not attack them outside of a show, do not have them converse (unless it's jointly wrote), and other things of the nature. The same thing goes for staff handled characters.
3. TGW only will accept ORIGINAL creations, no REAL wrestlers.
4. No live in-ring roleplays. TGW does not hold house shows outside of the weekly show so do not hold your roleplay at one.
5. Some people always wonder what style of roleplay is considered "better". In TGW, roleplays are judged as a whole, not in two parts (ie. Shoot & Story). We are looking for flow and ease of read. The better you can grab attention the better the people reading it will like it. It's all about creativity and your ability to write. There are no actual outlines, just the judges enjoyment of your roleplay.
6. Going along with the topic of roleplays, there is the topic of what is seen during each promo. Think of it as watching a TV show with a narrator. If it is in the roleplay, it is seen. Example, if during your story/character development in a weekly promo your character goes to the movies, we know about it. Think of it as your own personal camera man each week (without there actually being a camera there. It's like a TV show.)
7. Welcome to the Mr. Plow rule. Which means the first person to post a roleplay in a match(A), may not roleplay again until their opponent has(B). Once their opponent has roleplayed, either person can. Now, this doesn't mean that each week B should double up on A, we believe in sportsmanship. If you feel like doubling up on your opponent because you're leaving for the weekend, talk to them and work something out. Play nice.
8. All cards for a show are posted on Tuesday nights and will air the following Tuesday. We house the two deadline rule to enforce better sportsmanship. The first deadline is Monday night, 11:59(Eastern). All parties must roleplay at least once by this time. If one party doesn't, they are not allowed to post on Tuesday. Only one roleplay each is allowed on Tuesday per handler in a match. The Tuesday night deadline is also at 11:59(Eastern). In the case of tag-teams, if one member of the team roleplays before Monday, the other may post on Tuesday.
9. Each week the main event will be headlined by the match that was given the most effort via roleplays. This doesn't necessarily mean which one has the most rp's (Remember, it's quality over quantity). It means that it's the match that the handlers gave the most overall effort in, as decided by myself and 2 other judges. There are also instances where
10. The Champion's Rule.
REVISED 11/16/09. If you hold any Championship in TGW and no show an event, you will be in jeopardy of losing your title. You will be jobbed out in the No Shown event and be put on "probation". The following week will be booked in a title defense and you must roleplay (and not a "filler" rp of a few sentences/paragraphs). If you fail to roleplay for the second week in a row, you will be stripped of your championship will likely be jobbed in said event.
11. Rematches
Champions have a right to a rematch if they lose their titles under only one condition. You must have roleplayed for the match. If you no showed the title match or were a victim of the Champion's Rule, you will have to earn your rematch.
12. Pay-Per-Views
Everyone will be booked for a Pay-Per-View unless something severe would cause you not to be able to be booked in advance.
13. Limits
I. Each Animosity (Weekly Show) will have a roleplay limit of 2 and the monthly PPV's will have a limit of 3. These may vary if each opponent agree to other terms (Wanting a bigger limit, etc). Any variables will be posted in the match thread.
14. RP's of "Graphic Nature"
Yes, we are all adults (or most of the people that fed nowadays) and we live in the real world. However we come on here to have fun and not try to offend anyone. If you feel your roleplay might offend someone for whatever reason [Scenes of graphic sex, lots of descriptive drug use, hate crimes, etc] then it might be best to rethink your roleplay.
This is a wrestling efed, not a porn story site. Remember, moderation. It's ok in small doses but too much and it'll make people sick/offended.
15. No Showing
If you no show a match, you lose. Simple. You WILL be booked the following week if you do not say otherwise. If you fail to roleplay a second week in a row, you will be placed in a "Last Chance" match where if you roleplay you stay on the roster. If not, you will have to reapply.
4 weeks from the time of your no show at the Last Chance match, your account will be deleted from the boards. We want people who want to be here, we want people who want to have fun and be apart of something.
16. True Glory is associated with the VWF (http://thevwf.net). We are a feeder fed of sorts. New VWF talent will start off here in the TGW and "work to make it to VWF". At each bi-monthly TGW Pay Per View event, there will be 1-3 "VWF Contracts" up for grabs between some of the top TGW talent.
No TGW roster member HAS to go to VWF if they decide TGW is the right fit for them. You also may work both TGW and VWF feds.
Pushing Your Character
So, you want a push up the ladder in the company? There are a few different ways to get looked at and have your character gain a little more spotlight. Anyone can achieve a spot in big matches as long as you work for it.
Some ways to do this is to really work at your characters storyline within TGW. This can range from anything from doing segments for the shows, working on strats for your match, or work with your fellow TGW'ers on a feud or onscreen appearances.
By acknowledging what is going on in the TGW universe and other handlers roleplays it shows that you want to be here.
Out Of Character
1. Rule number one is simple. Real life always comes first. We all have something come up from time to time and we will be understanding, to a point. If you need the following week off for something ask but try not to make it a regular thing. Remember, don't abuse the system, kids.
2. No posting nude pictures on the forums, it violates our Proboards Terms of Service agreement. If you do so, it won't be pretty.
3. We know that there may be someone you don't generally like or get along with but for the sake of what we do, try to keep drama to a small percentage. Like, 1%. Take it off the boards and settle it like men (or women). I won't put up with tons of drama or bashing and will throw the ban hammer if it goes on when it is uncalled for.
4. If you give someone feedback feel free to give hard criticism but don't do so in a ripping apart manner. Give pointers and be helpful. We are all here to write and have fun so helping each other is always good.
5. If you lose a match and don't agree or want to know why, PM me. Do not make a thread on the board. There is no need to cause unneeded drama on the boards.
6. Shoutbox is for fun. We are all mature and act like it. Yes, there will be times of hazing but we all like each other. Remember that most of what is said in shoutbox is for fun.
