Section Three; Part Five: Choosing a Road to Walk on "Where am I?" Kaori woke up in a small, run-down room, barely remembering what happened last night. She took a look around, seeing that wallpaper was starting to peel, there were stains on the ceilings, a bathroom was pretty small as well and there were bars on the windows. The bed she woke up in was not quite as comfortable. Kaori was also in a hospital gown and slippers. She took a moment to wake up and gather her thoughts. She realized now that last night was her first night being in a mental hospital. There were very strict rules set for her as well as a higher level of security. Unlike the other people in this mental hospital who had roommates, Kaori didn't have any. She had her own private room. Kaori looked down at her right arm, seeing that she had several scars from cutting herself. After her first night in a mental hospital, she was already missing being at home in her apartment as well as her friends. "Sarah-chan... Ayame-chan... Jake-kun..." Kaori sadly sighed to herself as tears slightly began to shed from her eyes.*** Kaori immediatly opened her eyes and gasped, taking a look around. Realizing that she was back in her apartment, she started to calm down a little bit. Kaori looked over at the digital clock on her bed side, reading 6:30 AM. She couldn't fall back asleep. Ever since her experience in a mental hospital, she had a hard time sleeping. She didn't even want to think about that horrible experience. She was also on new medication which will probably help her a little bit. Kaori took a few deep breaths for a moment and decided to go online for a bit. After checking her Livejournal, she signed on to her yahoo account. Sarah wasn't online because she works in early mornings and Jake was probably still sleeping since he doesn't work til later. Kaori wasn't surprised since she's known those two for a long time. When Kaori was about to click Ayame's screen name, a chat box opened up. It was Ayame greeting Kaori. Blossom236: Konnichiwa, Kaori-chan. Kaori seemed surprised when Ayame wrote that. The whole time she was gone, she was thinking Ayame was going to be worried sick about her because she hasn't been online for a week. Kaori typed back a small greeting. Geisha76: Hey... Blossom236: Where have you been? I was scared that something bad must have happened to you. Geisha76: It's kind of a long story... Kaori seemed a bit hesitant to tell Ayame about her experience being locked up in a mental hospital for a week. Ayame, on the other hand, really wanted to know what was going on. A response came up from her. Blossom236: (Sigh.) Kaori-chan, what's wrong? Why won't you tell me anything anymore? Kaori fell silent for a moment. She wasn't sure what to do when it comes to situations like this. She took a deep breath and slowly let it out, typing up another response. Geisha76: ... I was in rehab for a week... for depression, self mutulation and even suicidal thoughts. Gomen-nasai for not listening to you, Ayame-chan... I... Blossom236: You what...? Ayame wasn't very happy about the situation. When Kaori read Ayame's response, she started to tense up a bit and shed more tears. She was showing some vulnerability in her emotions. Unlike how she was before going in the hospital, it wasn't a complete meltdown. For once, she was starting to feel bad for not listening to her friends about letting go. The pain really tore her apart over the years. Kaori typed up another response to Ayame. Geisha76: I... am a complete baka who is careless... Blossom236: ... I can't believe you did that to me, Kaori-chan and what's worse is that, you didn't want to tell me anything. I trusted you, Kaori and you've let me down. I thought you were my friend, but in the end, you just betrayed me... Geisha76: Ayame... Blossom236: Until you can prove yourself that your more loyal and honest, I can't talk to you anymore... Just then, Ayame blocked Kaori and deleted her from her contacts. The moment Kaori saw Ayame sign off, she fell silent once again. She was starting to shed some more tears, but at the same time was starting to feel regret deep inside herself which was a rare thing for her. *~*~*~*~* The camera turns to Kaori Shikagami who was relaxing in her hotel room at the Hyatt hotel in downtown San Diego. I have returned. She has returned to continue fighting til the end of time. The empress had suffered much pain for a long time now. Over that time, pain ate away at her. This time, she will be set free from all of that pain. She will not be an overpowered baka that collects those of pure. Realizing that her friends and companions were right about the pain, she, however, was careless and hated the world. From what she has learned from that horrid night, it's better to feel something rather than not feeling anything at all and to also face your fears. She took a sip of green tea. In the end, karma had hit me hard after the night I lost the match against Wilkie and Xaria's disappearance due to her injury after her match against Azuela. Wilkie was right about one thing though, I did go crazy which cost me a lot. Wilkie, you may be right about one thing, but I am still no one's bitch. Asides from all of the damage that I have caused, I'm still not giving up. She slightly shook her head. However, it was a bit strange how I still defended my folder ever since I won the triple threat match in Animosity 2 against Azuela and Haris. I didn't know what Mr. Mason was thinking, because I lost the match in Animosity 3 against Wilkie. Not to mention, I was gone last week for personal reasons. It was strange but I like it. Now I have a chance to compete for the Volitionary title this week in No Limits in a cage match. Despite most of my losses that have happened in TGW, I will keep rising and working my way to the top.I am back in action once again and tend to keep it that way. She sets the cup of tea on top of the table by her laptop. I am proud to be back in time for No Limits as well as competing for the Volitionary title, thanks to Mr. Mason. It looks like we meet again, Franchise. It's time we've had a rematch and this time, I will be the one to end it. You see, Franchise, you're not the only one with a game plan. Sure you may have defeated me on the first week of Animosity, but over time, I have grown stronger and have learned from my flaws. I've heard how you've easily took down Canyon last week in Animosity. It wasn't really a surprise there since that match was a freebie to you. Once we compete for that Volitionary title in a cage match, I will show you how capable I really am. She slightly leans back in her chair and lightly smirks. Franchise, seeing how you talk much nonsense and talking how you have a game plan up your sleeve, let me tell you something, this type of game is the most dangerous one of all. There's no turning back. If you want to bring out your so called 'A' game, then bring it, because I will bring mine along as well. In the end, only one of us will escape alive. Also, seeing how you love to bash me with the 'Asian Orphan' shit, I will show you this week for No Limits that this Asian won't hold back this time. You may be a lot bigger than me but when it comes to any type of game, there's one rule you're missing "Size doesn't matter, it's about the sportsmanship." This week in No Limits, let's rock this house. Don't hold back, because I won't be holding back once we start to dance. I will show you the true power of The Lightning Empress. Kaori turns away from the camera and then turns her chair towards the table so she can go on to her laptop and then the scene fades to black.

Within the mind of a champion lies one certain truth, to be the best at anything, you have to have the experience to back you up! Only have there been certain times where luck has prevailed for champions, but for the most part, champions always seem to rise to the challenges at the promised time.
In Russell Franchise's world, his road to this moment in time began during his short stint at ESW. He first wrestled under the name of Johnny Franchise, a mere shadow of what Russell is now. At that time, Russell was a very cocky wrestler with no respect for anybody in the back or the fans that came out to see him. He was his own lone ranger. This caused him to be beaten and humiliated more times than he won his matches.
But even after the loses, Russell began to learn, the hard way, how to win matches. When he put his learning into practice, he won a match. Then another....and another..and another. He became a instant hit with the fan who once booed him. The Von Doom family, owners of ESW, started noticing the sheer talent that this kid has possessed. His demeanor changed from winning for himself to winning for the fans that came to see a good show! Merchandise for Johnny Franchise merchandise began soaring to the top. Russell was experiencing some of the same successes he had when he was playing professional football. And then, as soon as he started to become popular with the fans and management of ESW.....
he left.
Despite wining the X Division belt, for Russell, the wrestling life wasn't what he expected it to be. For one, he had to move around a lot, travel from city to city, show to show, just to make a living. Despite the fact that he loved seeing new cities he's never been in before, all of it had an affect on his personal life. He couldn't keep a solid relationship with the women in his life. Russell was always tired all the time, and with the disgusting things you can find with a black light lamp in a hotel room, Russell had to splurge on a trailer coach which nearly bankrupted him. The coach would never fully substitute the feel of a real home, only prolong his longing for something normal. And so, Russell felt it was the right time to leave this worthy profession and move back to the safety of Charlotte, NC.
For 2 years, Russell became a regular on morning talk radio. From 6-10a.m. weekdays, his job was to break down every game, play, trade, news story, and anything else for a public on their way to work. The pay was on point for a veteran NFL player. His city loved him, but he always knew something was missing: a sense of accomplishment.
In July, an old friend from ESW payed him a visit. Camisado, a former competitor and friend from the old fed was wrestling in an Indy show and gave Franchise a ticket to his match at Bojangles's Arena. After the show, Franchise and Camisado talked about the old days at ESW. Camisado brought up the fact that he was moving over to a new promotion, True Glory Wrestling. He said that they were looking for top wrestlers for their promotion to bring true glory back to the wrestling world. At the time, Russell had two roads to pick.....
A) He could always stay in Charlotte, NC and continue what he was doing. Great pay, great work. His city loved him regardless if he was ever a true champion or not. Or...
B) He could get back into the ring one last time and prove to himself and the world that he was the still one of the greatest wrestlers of his time.
After meeting with Wade Mason in San Diego, Russell decided to try it out one more time. He knew that if he was to succeed, he would have to stay true to himself. He changed his wrestling name back to Russell Franchise, and then, he got back to training his body back to perfect form. By the time of his first match, he wasn't fully 100% ready for Kaori Shikagami. But, as the bell rang, and Kaori threw the first punch, almost in a instant, Russell found himself back in true "Johnny Franchise" mode.
Even now, as The "A" Game prepares for his Voltionary Championship match against Shikagami in the ring, Russell knows that the world will be watching to see what he will do next. He's already one of the few wrestlers who can boast that they are undefeated in the TGW. But he knew there was more out there for him to grab, and it all started with winning at No Limits.
Franchise and his best friend, Pablo, wrapped up a greuling 4 hour work out with a brisk jog around Presidio Park in San Diego on a muggy afternoon day.
Pablo: It's been 4 weeks and look at you now, you're a top contender for a major championship.
Franchise: You know, I thought I had a clear shot at the World Title, but I guess you got to crawl before you can walk. But I promise you, Pablo, I will be TGW World Champion in a few short months.
Pablo: Yeah, yeah!
Franchise: Believe me, sir. The Voltionary Title is only the begining. I have been tearing things up in the ring! I'm almost unstoppable.
Pablo: But that's not to say that you can't be stopped!
Franchise: Good point. There were plenty of times when I thought that others could get the best of me. But I never let it phase me.
Pablo: So, you have a rematch with Kaori in a still cage match. I think she's ready to show you up, holmes!
Franchise: Now, don't get me wrong, Pablo! If JaGi didn't dick around in my match the first time, me and Kaori would have gotten everything straight the first time out. Kaori has something to prove. The bad news for me is, she's got me all to herself in a steel cage!
Pablo: What is the good news then?
Franchise: The good news for me is that I have her all to myself in a steel cage. I'm not one to give repeat performances of greatness, but when somebody like Kaori wants an encore, I'm more than able to oblige her. The fact of the matter is, there is still some unfinished business. She wants a little bit of revenge, but I promise to you, Franchise doesn't lay down for anybody at anytime.
Pablo: So, I'm guessing you have some kind of gameplan coming into No Limits...
Franchise: The game plan is to always play defense, because DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! Kaori might have more experience in cage matches than I do, but I promise you, the best way from keeping her from beating me is to keep her from escaping the cage. I will bring her to within an inch of her life in the ring. I'm not going to let that Asian....
Pablo: Now, now, you know she won't like it if you call her an Asian orphan or whore or whatever you call her.
Franchise: You know, you're right, man. So, I'm just going to say this. Come No Limits, Kaori can bring anything, anything, ANYTHING to that steel cage. She can bring a chair, a kendo stick, brass knuckles, swords, shooting stars, egg rolls, chicken wings, Lady JaGi, Wade Mason, Kayne West, the man who "LOVES HER LONG TIME", guns, bombs, tasers....ANYTHING TO THE RING! But, I'll bring the only thing I always bring, MY "A" GAME! Because after everything is said and done and the belt is around my waist, the only thing she will ever say about me is that my "A" game is Amazing! I didn't start the war, Pablo! But come No Limits, I'll finish it off!
Pablo: You got to bring more than your game man! You might not get a fair title shot, especially with the rules attached to the Volutionary Title!
Franchise: If she wins the title, I can deal with it. She can defend that title in any match she wants, I promise you, Pablo, that I will play by her rules and show the world that you can't keep the Franchise down! Because IT'S A FRANCHISE WORLD, AND WE ALL HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT!
Pablo: Dude, you're going ESW on me! Should I just call you Johnny Franchise for the rest of the day!
Franchise: I still prefer the "A" Game!
Russell Franchise knows that this match is the biggest match he'll ever have to wrestle, but it'll all be worth it (the pain, the struggle, the comeback) when he finally climbs the cage and holds the Volutionary Title over his head for the world to see! It will be his finest moment!

No Limits Match: Volitionary title Cage match. Target: Russell Franchise *~*~*~*~* The camera turned to Kaori Shikagami who was walking around Seaport Village, enjoying a nice breeze. I will do whatever it takes to reach the top like I used to be back in eWo. I don't want revenge, I just want to prove myself that I am capable. Franchise, I don't need any weapons to take you down. All I need are my fists. That's it. She stops at the edge of the boardwalk. You see, Franchise, you may have a lot more experience when it comes to wrestling, but you know nothing about this rookie. Hell, you probably don't know how capable rookies can be. Back in eWo, I've managed to take down a far more experienced wrestler, Jason Bell to defend the Freedom title. He was the former eWo Freedom champion until the night of my debut where I won that title in a dumpster match at Grind House. I held the Freedom title for the longest time until I was willing to give it up to go into the Commonwealth division, which is a rank higher. It was a close call between me and James-kun but in the end, he won the Commonwealth title.I even took out Seth Dryden back in eWo and he was one of the legendary ones. He had far more experience and I still won in the end. That shows that rookies do have a lot of capability and I am one of them. I've only been wrestling for a few short months. That's it. I'm not only a rookie but an advanced rookie. Yeah, we would have had a better match on the first week of Animosity if JaGinaut didn't interfere and it caught me off guard but in No Limits, I will bring my game on too and take you down. I will keep my defenses up this time and in the end, have that title wrapped around my waist. I don't need any encores. I have all I need right here. She raises her fist up high above her head. Once the war starts, I will be the one to finish it. You're going to need more than your so called 'A' game this is an 'A +' game we're playing here, because all I need in that cage are my fists,She lowered her fist and looks out at the ocean. I may have wanted revenge before but this time, it's going to be a clean fight. The empress will rise to seek her true self within. She will love herself and others. She has a deep hole to climb out of to fully change herself for the better. She has let many people down and has broken many promises but, she will do whatever it take to be true to herself and make it to the top. Her dream one day is to be on top and be a heroine. Someday, it might come true, but it won't happen over night. No.I am going to give it all I've got in No Limits. It's either sink or swim. Franchise, this week, I will put on a great show to show that this Asian has talent up her sleeve, and bring your 'A' game because you'll be needing it. I'm going to bring an 'A +' game. I will no longer be the dishonored one I once was. You will be struck by lightning in the end.Once that was said, she turned and then walked back towards the beach and then the scene faded to black.

Franchise cuts on his web cam, wearing the South Carolina jersey with his former number (13) emblazoned on the front. He sips from a little glass cup and proceeds to smile into the camera!
Franchise: What's HOOD! It's your boy, Russell Franchise, and I'm just chillin' with you for a while! Watching my Gamecocks play some ball against the Florida Atlantic squad. 17-16 Cocks going into the second half of play. GO COCKS!!!
I just felt like I should give a little shoutout to people! Yo Washington Huskies, taking care of business against USC! SWEET PLAYS! Dominating from the word go! Nick Folk, with the game winning kick! Awesome game man! You get a standing ovation from this man!
Also, Florida beating Tennessee in the Swamp! Lane Kiffin will not be singing Rocky Top tonight in Tennessee then afterwards! Great game by Florida, but believe me when I say this, when Tebow and the Gators come to Williams Bryce Stadium, it's over! GO COCKS!
Now, I really need to get something off my chest! I've been listening to Kaori Shikagami talking trash about your boy, and I'm kinda getting tired of listening to the stuff she's saying! I mean, she's talking a lot about the past!
Don't get me wrong, you got to learn from your past to know your future. If you don't, you're bound to make the same mistakes you made in the past. That's the creed I live by, but Kaori lives by a different creed!
Her past is what made her big. Her time in eWo made her into what she is today. Beating one of the better wrestlers on the roster made her an instant star and she had a title for a long period of time. Then she became the top champion, and carried eWo until she left.
Now, I'm not saying the girl isn't gifted! She's got wrestling skills, great ring presence. But, come on Kaori! As I first said when we first met up, this isn't the eWo! The letters on the ring spell out TGW! This isn't the Freedom Title that you're fighting for! This is the Volutionary Title, the only title where the champion can pick his or her's own fate! And I'm not Jason Bell, a random wrestler who you got lucky off of! I"M RUSSELL FUCKING FRANCHISE!!!
Kaori, I've never underestimated your ability to do some of the most amazing shit I've ever seen in a four sided ring! But, when it comes to it, I'm always going to bring more to the table. I'm not about show and dance, I'm all about dominating from the word go! I don't have to bring my A+ game, Kaori! My "A" Game is always strong to carry me to the top! You seen my game up front and personal, and you can confess to the fact that my game is tight!!!
You always talk about your empire, how you plan on building it up after beating me! Well, here's my question, Miss Shikagami! What happens when I beat your ass at No Limits? I mean, do you have any stand-by plans to back you up after I take you from one side of the cage to another? When I Franchise Tag you from the top of the ring to the mat, will your empire be able to deal with the massive rebuilding you would have to do to build things back up?
You don't have anything to fall back on, because you're still looking towards the past, hoping there will be a parachute to glide you to safety and a win! I promise you, little girl, I don't care if you play fair or unfair, I'm walking to that ring with the Voltionary Title in my mind and then I'm walking out with the Voltionary Title in my hands! The Franchise Dynasty begins where the Empire ends!
So, Kaori, as I return to my game on TV, you bring your past, the past that you still cling to that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and I'll bring the future that you're not ready for, mostly known as....THE "A" GAME!!!
Franchise plays the CAROLINA FIGHT SONG one last time as he returns to the game!

No Limits Match: Volitionary Title cage match Target: Russell Franchise *~*~*~*~*~* The camera turns back to Kaori Shikagami who was back in her hotel room, resting up before No Limits. You amuse me so much, Franchise.Sure I may have had issues in the past but on the night of No Limits, that's where I'm going to shine. You are who you are and I am who I am. That's the way it's supposed to be. You're getting tired of all of the sit I'm saying? Well I'm getting tired of you flapping your gums about your nonstop so called 'A' game as well your talk random talk about sports such as football. "Yeah! The Chargers rock! They're going to cream the Raiders! Go Chargers!" Yeah. This is wrestling we're talking about here, not football or any other sport except wrestling. This is where I shine, Franchise, and this time, not JaGinaut, not Mr. Mason, no one is going to interfere. This fight is just between you and I and I will be the one to obtain that Volitionary title. The past is behind me now and the future gates are opening. You may have defeated me and you may have excellent wrestling skills, but this time, it will be my night to shine. I am going to bounce back and prove myself not only as a wrestler but as a person. A person who is willing to seek redemption and change for the better. Since the first week of Animosity where you defeated me in our very first match, I never doubted your skills again. I realized that not only the pain ate away at me but my arrogance as well. She leaned back a little bit in her chair. When it comes to the Volitionary title cage match on TV, the past will no longer be there, only my skills and showing no remorse once I give you the final blow. Your Franchise Dynasty will fall. It will be in ruins once it is over and my Lightning Empire will rise to the top to show it's true colors. Franchise, I have a question for you. If I end up defeating -you- in No Limits, what's going to happen to your so called 'A' game? You act as if you're already on top of the world already, but you're not. You haven't defeated me yet, Franchise. You're not the only one that wants to make it to the top to obtain the World title someday. Right now, this is the Volitionary title we're competing for.Once I defeat you, your 'A' game will become The Fail Game. The game that you cling on to nonstop.Kaori smirks a little bit as she took a sip of her green tea and then sets it on the table by her laptop. It's a fight til death. If you want true competition, then you've got it right here. Don't underestimate me, Franchise, because I can turn out to be your worst nightmare. Give it all you've got, because there's no holding back. This empress may or may not play by the rules, but she is going to rise again as well as her empire.Once that was said, Kaori gets up and walks out and then the scene fades to black.

As Franchise walks into the TGW Arena backstage area, he's filled with nervousness and anxiety. Unlike the dozens of times he has walked into this beautiful arena to compete, this time, he was competing for something far more valuable, the Volutionary Title.
This title is much more different than the other titles and championships one could only hope to attain one day. With the Volutionary Title, the title holder could basically pick their own destiny. They call the stipulation they want to compete by. If they wanted a bull-whip match, the match would be made. A 4-way Texas Tornado match was also not out of reach. The champion could call any match he or she wanted to call. For Franchise, the power of the belt made him hunger more for a win.
As Franchise changed out of his street clothing to training attire, the butterflies that were flying around in his stomach began stirring up again. This would be his first cage match. While it's exciting to see a cage match on television or in person, it's a lot different to participate in one and struggle to survive. It takes a lot of inner strength to endure the pain of raw steel hitting human flesh. Russell Franchise was used to putting running backs and quarterbacks on their back (and sometimes getting trucked to the ground), but tackling people wearing pads is a lot different than hitting a structure that yields little to no give after impact.
Russell walked in the ring area just after they assembled the massive cage in the ring. They were rigging the wires to carry the 50 ton steel box to the top of the ring. Franchise walked down the usual ramp that he always walked down before matched. Yet, he took his time climbing the steps into the steel cage. As he opened the door to the cage, the cold metallic feel of the door sent shock through his body.
Standing in the middle of the ring intimidated Russell. Trying to peer over the 10 feet clearance proved almost difficult for even a over 6ft. man like Franchise was! But as he did his usual wrestling training, he knew that he would have to fully rely on his instincts to win this match. He knows he will have to keep an eye on Kaori at all times. When she tries to escape the cage, he must be there to keep her from escaping. If she tries to hit the finisher, he must move out the way. If it's time to escape the cage, Franchise must know every which way he can escape. Knowing every angle of the cage is going to be important if he planned on walking out of the cage with an title.
Minutes later, the steel cage was being hoisted into the rafters for safe keeping until the appointed time. Russell Franchise returned to the backstage area, sat in his comfy sofa, and had a drink of water while watching the football game on television. His demeanor was silent, but he was filled with purpose!
A commercial pops during a break and it advertises the Franchise v. Kaori steel cage match on TV. With his TiVo, he pauses the action to a picture of Shikagami on the screen and begins talking to it.
Franchise: Kaori Shikagami, from the beginning we both knew that we were destined for greatness. We both knew that in order to reach that next level, we would have to sacrifice anything and everything . When it came to change our perspectives, we would have to open our minds to every possibility under the sun. And now, that time has come where all the pain and sacrifice we've endured has lead us to a point of either gaining something or losing it all.
Since our first fight, we both had our own path to travel in order to get to this point in time. You've had to suffer mental breakdowns, painful beatings, and questions about yourself while claiming your title. While I might have had the easier path to travel, I also had to defend my title against tough contenders and even an overconfident wrestler who couldn't get his way.
But in all, we both earned a shot at the Volutionary Title, and so we fight so that our names may be written in the TGW History book as the first person to carry the title.
If you think I'm going to back off now because I have beaten you before, I'm not! I'm going to come at you with the same pain and intensity I brought the first time we met each other. You may fling me into the steel cage all you want, but I will not let you get the best of me. I will not let you escape out of the cage. Winning that title will be the most painful thing you will ever have to endure.
I'm ready for a living hell when we step into the steel cage. I only ask that you will bring everything to that ring and that we will fight like the true warriors we are!
Come No Limits, there will be no limits to how far I am willing to go to prevent you from building your empire! I will sacrifice everything for this moment. Because when it comes down to it, only one will be able to walk with the title in their hands, and I'm going to be the first one defends it and bring honor to it!
We waited for this moment, Shikagami! LET'S FINISH THE DAMN THING, ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!
Life’s a game but it’s not fair I break the rules so I don’t care So I keep doing my own thing Walking tall against the rain Victory’s within the mile Almost there, don’t give up now Only thing that’s on my mind Is who gon’ run this town tonight
